Get ready to dive into the enchanting world of hand woven passementerie and unravel the mysteries of this amazing craft with an exclusive, live interview on 'Textiles and Tea' by the Handweavers Guild of America on Tuesday 27th February at 9pm GMT / 4pm ET.

Join me as I share my insights, experiences, and inspirations behind my contemporary work with the endangered craft of passementerie weaving. During my interview, I will be discussing my passion and dedication to the art of passementerie, particularly in the context of its classification as an endangered craft by Heritage Crafts in the UK.

I will discuss the importance of not only preserving this traditional craft but also evolving it to remain relevant and appealing to modern audiences. I'll delve into how I incorporate contemporary elements such as colour, pattern, technique, material, and scale into my work, aiming to revitalise and promote passementerie as a true art form. Additionally, I will also highlight the significance of innovation in ensuring the survival and thriving of this intricate craft in today's cultural landscape.

Each week the Handweavers Guild of America, Inc. (HGA) hosts Textiles & Tea, a conversation with some of the most respected fiber artists in the field today. In our 45-minute discussion we focus on their artwork and their creative journey. We allow 15 minutes at the end of our conversation for questions from the audience. Textiles & Tea will take place every Tuesday at 4:00 PM (ET) and is broadcast via Zoom and Facebook Live. These broadcasts are free to view and open to all.
